The Co-op has many services and resources to help you with your dietary needs. They are: our Gluten Free foods list, shelf labels, the Celiac Sprue Association Product Guide Book, brochures on celiac disease and gluten free baking, Gluten free deli guide, and gluten free store tours with our registered dietitian.
On the brochure wall, near the Service Desk in the Hanover and Lebanon stores, you will find the yellow handout titled, “Find Gluten Free Foods Easily at the Co-op.” This is an alphabetical listing of the labeled gluten free products we carry and their aisle location. Or you can download and print the Hanover store list, White River Junction store list, and Lebanon store list.
Many products we carry are gluten free but this is not stated on the product label, for example, on mustard and relish, you usually won’t find the words “Gluten free” on the label, even though they are made without gluten ingredients. Customers can still identify these “unmarked” GF products, however. They are listed in the big blue Celiac Sprue Association Product guide, at the service desk. The book may be signed out to use while in the store.
Co-op members may borrow the previous year’s edition from the Co-op library located upstairs at the Hanover store. Personal copies may be purchased directly from the Celiac Sprue Association.
We have two additional gluten free brochures: “Living Gluten-Free” and “Gluten-Free Baking.” Both contain additional information and tips for a successful Gluten-free lifestyle.
Look for the list of gluten-free deli brands on the back of our Co-op Deli Nutrition guide, found at the Deli counter.
Do you have questions about the gluten free diet? Would a “Gluten Free” store tour be helpful? Please call or email Mary Choate at 603-640-6342 with your questions or to schedule a tour.
