Wearing his best game face, 14-year-old Josh Porter, who dreams of being a web designer, arm wrestles the coveted job away from Co-op web designer Ken Davis during Job Shadow Day. Every year the Co-op participates in outreach programs like Job Shadow Day, where 8th graders from across the Upper Valley come to learn about what Co-op employees do.

Job Shadow Day:

Youth Outreach in Action

Josh Porter of South Royalton School came to the Co-op on Thursday, March 11, 2010, to learn about web design. He took to the task quickly and easily, and built the page you are reading now. Here is what he had to say about Job Shadow Day:

“It’s fun! You learn a lot. You get to do things you wouldn’t normally get to do. You also have the opportunity to learn things to help you get the job you want when you get older.”
