Then you’ll love this: Mark your calendars now to join Co-op chefs and nationally known culinary historians at the Shaker Museum on October 24 for an all-day symposium and panel discussion on the fascinating history of food. The symposium will feature keynote speeches by two culinary historians, and each speaker is followed by a panel discussion with local experts. You won’t want to miss it.

New Hampshire Growers’ Dinner 6:30 p.m.
This all-day symposium will feature keynote speeches by two nationally known culinary historians, and each speaker is followed by a panel discussion with local experts. The symposium ends with a reception featuring artisan demonstrations and samples of local cheeses, wines, and ciders. A New Hampshire Growers Dinner follows, featuring the Co-op Food Stores’ Chef Jason Dacier and his staff.
Sandra Oliver discusses Every Dish Has a Past. Oliver is formerly publisher of Food History News and author of Saltwater Foodways: New Englanders and their Food at Sea. Anne Mendelson discusses Back to the Future with Small Scale Dairy Farming. A writer and historian and contributing editor to Gourmet magazine, Mendelson’s most recent book is Milk: The Surprising Story of Milk Through the Ages.
