Cardamom Coffee

Serves 12

12 cups freshly brewed
coffee
5 cardamom pods
1 cinnamon stick
Sugar, to taste
1 whole nutmeg, for grating

Pour coffee into
a large saucepan. Break the cardamom pods apart with your fingers (or
run a rolling pin over them) and strip out the seeds. Add the seeds and
cinnamon stick to the coffee. Add sugar if you like your coffee sweetened.
Heat for ten minutes, but don’t let it boil. Strain coffee and pour
into individual mugs. Grate a bit of fresh nutmeg on top of each serving.
